Casinos to restart in Goa from November 01

Panaji: Goa Cabinet on Wednesday approved restarting of the Casino Industry in the state from November 01, which were shut down due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant told reporters that the Casinos will have to operate with 50 percent of its capacity and they will have to follow all the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that would be imposed by State Home Department.

“State cabinet decided to allow casinos to be reopened from November 01 onwards,” he said.

Goa has six off shore and around 12 on shore casinos operating in the state.

Sawant said that the Casino operators will have to pay the licence fees before resuming their operations.
