Gujarat: In yet another setback for Canacona-based businessman Ligorio D’Souza, Gujarat court has rejected his anticipatory bail petition in connection with the liquor smuggling case.
Bhachau sessions court rejected anticipatory bail application of Ligorio, who has been booked in a similar case earlier. Gujarat police have booked a case under stringent Prohibition Act against him, holding him responsible for smuggling of liquor in the BJP-run dry state.
Interestingly, the local court had earlier rejected his anticipatory bail petition in another case but he managed to get partial relief in Gujarat High Court.
While allowing his anticipatory bail application, the HC had asked him to appear before the Investigating Officer on December 7 at Samhiali police station.
It is to be seen whether he will appear before the Investigating officer tomorrow.
