Calangute Police have arrested one Mr. Minguel@Michael Carvalho, R/o MuddaVado, Saligao – Goa for causing destruction and injuries to two persons by setting fire to a shack at Baga – Calangute.
As per PI Jivba Dalvi an offence was registered on 04/01/2019 upon receipt of complaint against the accused person for setting fire and causing destruction and also resulting in injuries to 02 staffs of a shack at Baga.
Police immediately inspected the scene and collected vital evidence which implicated the accused person. However the accused person evaded arrest and moved for anticipatory bail.
Police strongly objected to the bail application and the Court based on the investigation rejected the bail today i.e on 01/02/2019. Upon rejection of the bail police immediately rushed to the residence and arrested the accused person under sections 436 & 324 of IPC.
Accused person is currently lodged in PS lockup and is being interrogated to reveal the motive of the crime and to gather further evidence.
Further investigation is in progress with PSI Jatin Potdar under the supervision of PI Jivba Dalvi.
