Porvorim: Porvorim BJP mandal president Kishor Asnodkar has appealed people to vote against the family raj during the upcoming panchayat election.
In a video message released here, Asnodkar said that the family raj should not be allowed in the panchayat bodies. He said that the panch member is important factor in the grass root level democracy and that should be kept away from the family raj.
Everyone has a right to contest election but voters should discourage two to three people from the same family contesting the panchayat election, he said.
Asnodkar said that the mandal supports the views expressed by Porvorim MLA and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte against the family raj.
