Margao: A health camp is set to be organised by BJP Medical for Goa’s women brigade at Damodar temple hall housing board here. In the camp, women can get free tests done Bone Mineral Density (BMD) test, random blood sugar test among others. Besides the regular tests, they can also get free consultations and free medicines.
The event will be inaugurated by Shri Damu Naik , Dr Shekhar Salkar ,Dr Amey Velingkar , Dr Sneha Bhagwat and Mrs Ranjita Pai. All the doctors stressed on the rising incidences of NCDs. As per WHO, NCDs are estimated to account for 63% of all deaths in India. Sedentary lifestyle and less physical activity are leading to several health risks.
Dr Amey Velingkar ( Orthopaedic surgeon) and Dr Sneha Bhagwat ( Women health specialist) will provide free consultations.
This camp comes out as a great move, keeping in mind the present upsurge in NCDs in India.
