Panaji – Shame on BJP Government under Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant which could not release “Goa Statehood Day” Advertisement in all Local Newspapers. No mention of Official Function to commemorate the day. Is it because Congress will get credit for including Goa as 25th State of Republic of India?, charged Congress Media Cell Chairman Amarnath Panajikar.
Reacting to the Small Size Advertisements released by the Department of Information & Publicity in few Local Newspapers of Goa, Amarnath Panajikar said that the BJP Government has no money to celebrate Goa Statehood Day but spends multiple crores on the Events for Mission Total Commission.
It is shocking that there was no State Level Official Function organised by the Government of Goa attended by the Hon’ble Governor of Goa or the Chief Minister. BJP Government has deliberately ignored historic days like Opinion Poll Day and Goa Statehood Day as the credit for both the historic events goes to Congress Government, stated Amarnath Panajikar.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant chose to be in Uttar Pradesh canvassing for the BJP. This shows that his priority is BJP Propaganda and not the Statehood Day of Goa, charged Amarnath Panajikar.
Congress Government used to organise “Kala Gaurav” Award presentation Function on Goa Statehood Day and felicitate 60 Artists from Goa at the hands of Chief Minister and other Dignitaries. Unfortunately, the BJP Government stopped the Program for the reasons best known to them, said Amarnath Panajikar.
It is the duty of the Government to celebrate the Goa Statehood Day with grand celebrations. It is because of Statehood that Goa Legislative Assembly has 40 MLAs and Dr. Pramod Sawant calls himself the Chief Minister of Goa. It was then visionary Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi who gave the Statehood to Goa, said Amarnath Panajikar.
Congress Party has always respected the Sentiments of the People of Goa. Opinion Poll, Recognition to Konkani, Statehood are some of the major contributions of the Congress Governments to the State of Goa, pointed Amarnath Panajikar.
It is certain that the INDIA Government will come to power at the Centre on 4th June 2024. Congress Party will commemorate all the Historic Days with State Level Official Functions, said Amarnath Panajikar.
