Calangute: Goa Police on Thursday recovered a body of a married woman from Bihar, who was living with her partner at Calangute.
A senior police official said that prima facie the case of suicide is registered in connection with the incident.
Police said that they had received a call on Thursday from Police Control Room about dead body of a woman lying in a rented room at Naikwaddo, Calangute in North Goa.
He said that police inquiry revealed that the woman identified as Sanjana Kumari (34), originally from Patna (Bihar) was living with her 26-year-old partner in the rented room. The partner was also originally from Patna.
Police said that during the investigation, the eye witnesses revealed that the deceased had committed suicide by hanging herself using saree, after locking her inside.
Quoting eye witnesses, police said that the door was broke open by her partner on Thursday morning. He had shifted the body to local Primary Health centre and later to Goa Medical College, Bambolim where she was declared as brought in dead.
The official said that the statement of victim’s parent was recorded during which her father revealed that she was married back in Patna and she has a 13-year-old daughter.
Police said that the postmortem on the body would be conducted in presence of her husband.
