Panaji: State Government today assured Bombay High Court at Goa to keep on hold the beach shack allotment process till it Grant’s permissions for the same.
State tourism department had invited applications for beach shacks, after high court vacated stay imposed on implementation of Beach Shack Policy by National Green Tribunal.
State today informed court that shack allotment lottery draw to be held on October 17 will be kept on hold till the Court decides on the petition challenging the shack reservation for experienced operators.
The matter would be heard on Friday again, when State will file its affidavit.
As per policy, total of 346 stacks will be allotted to shack operators for a period of 3 years , of which 238 are in North Goa while 108 are in South Goa.
As much as 50 percent of shacks will be allotted to applicants with experience of 10 years and above, applicants with experience of 5 to 9 years will get 40 percent of shacks while 10 percent shacks will be allotted to applicants with experience of less than 5 years and also those without any prior experience
