Ban Sanatani organisations in the State: Congress

Panaji: In the wake of series of arrests by police across of people having affiliation to Goa based Sanatan Sanstha, Congress party in the State have demanded to ban the ‘sanatani’  organizations.

“It is noticed that increasingly, the investigating agencies are arresting people connected with propagators of Sanatani organizations for killing of progressive thinkers and writers,” Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar said today.

“It is high time that Goa government ban all such organizations in the state to prevent any further killings of progressive thinkers and writers,” he said.

Chodankar recalled that one of Goa’s prominent writer Damodar Mauzo has already got  threat to his life. “Growth of such organizations is dangerous for secular, liberal and progressive Goa,” he said.

Several accused who have been arrested in killing of rationalists like MM Kalburgi, Narendra Dabholkar, Gauri Lankesh have been found to be having their allegiance to Goa-based Sanatan Sanstha.

Mauzo who was provided security cover after threat to his life had demanded ban on Sanatan Sanstha. He had called them to be spreading poison in the secular society.
