Ban continues on gyms, bars, casinos in Goa

Panaji: In a fresh notification issued on Sunday, Goa government has continued ban on several activities while relaxing the movement of people only during night time from June 08 onwards.

Both the district collectors have issued orders which has said that the non-essential movement of people will be banned in the state from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The order states that the restrictions are imposed considering the prevailing situation in the country due to the Health Emergency posed by COVID-19, an infectious disease caused by Coronavirus.

The State government, in its order, has banned movement of all shops/establishments except essential from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ban also continues on activities like Gymnasiums, sports complexes, auditoriums/community halls, assembly halls and similar places.

While state government has allowed sale of liquor at wine shops, the order has banned operation of bars in its limits.

The ban will also continue on schools, colleges, educational/training/coaching institutions, Cinema halls/theatres, swimming pools, Casinos, River Cruises, Multiplexes, consumption of liquor at public places besides others.
