Panaji: The rapid tests have confirmed seven new COVID-19 positive cases in the state, while the final report is still awaited.
Senior state government officer said that five members of a family who had travelled from Kolhapur district of Maharashtra along with their driver have tested positive.
The seventh patient is a truck driver who had arrived in the state to distribute essential services, the official said.
Goa was declared as Green Zone by the centre on May 01 after all the seven cases which were detected in the state had recovered.
The state government has opened up majority of the economic activities including industries in the state.
Chief minister Pramod Sawant had even announced holding of SSC and HSSC examination in the state which were kept on hold after COVID-19 outbreak.
Meanwhile, reacting to the development Aam Admi Party (AAP) said that the truth about Goa’s COVID-19 reality had to surface.
AAP Goa General Secretary Pradeep Padgaonkar said that the reason why party was demanding a joint press conference by the chief minister and the health minister was to help Goa know the truth about the handling of Coronavirus cases.
“Chief minister’s media briefing were not convincing as he was reportedly relying too much on his inept administration with a cabinet engaged in a war of trading charges of corruption,” he said.
