Panaji: Goa government will involve AYUSH doctors in post-covid management and also treatment of mild to moderate COVID19 positie symptom of the patients from coming week onwards, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Friday.
Sawant said that the AYUSH doctors would be involved in post-covid management of the patients in the state from coming week onwards. He also said that the AYUSH doctors will also be involved in treating mild to moderate COVID-19 positive patients along with the other government doctors.
The Chief minister was speaking during the launching of Home Isolation Kit in presence of State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane.
Sawant said that there are 3,500 active patients who have opted for Home Isolation, who would be provided these kits.
The Chief Minister said that with the rate of 85.98 per cent, Goa has recorded the best recovery rate in the country, while the number of tests is also highest amongst other states.
Sawant said that the state has put up robust infrastructure to tackle COVID-19 pandemic. He said that there are enough beds in the state run hospitals to admit COVID-19 patients.
“There are total 756 beds available in different covid care hospitals while 50 per cent of the beds in covidcare facilities is also vacant,” he added.
Sawant said that the Home Isolation kit will help in treatment of the patient from the first day of he diagnosing positive for the infection. “That will eventually reduce the load on the hospitals,” he said.
