Panaji: Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera on Thursday said that at least 10-15 BJP-led state governments will collapse, once INDIA Alliance comes to power in the centre after the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
Talking to reporters in Panaji, Khera challenged BJP to make statement on amendment of Tenth schedule of the constitution, banning any defections by the MLAs.
“At least, 10-15 BJP led state governments will collapse once INDIA Alliance is voted to power in the centre. We will amend the tenth schedule of the constitution, banning the defections. Whoever defects from one party to another, would be disqualified,” the Congress leader said.
Khera said that all these governments will collapse by July, once the results are out in June.
He said that the BJP has made “mockery of democracy” across the country by indulging in defections. “When Amit Shah arrives in Goa to address the election rally, the media should ask him questions on the tenth schedule of the constitution,” he said.
Referring to the case of Prajwal Revanna, Khera said claimed it is world’s biggest case of sexual exploitation. He said that everyone including BJP CM in Goa Dr Pramod Sawant should condemn the incident.
The Congress leader said that it is the responsibility of the central government to get Revanna back by cancelling his passport.
