Panaji: A truck cleaner from Agra who had travelled to Goa’s Kundaim industrial estate has tested positive for COVID-19 infection during the rapid test (TrueNat test) on Saturday.
State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said on Saturday that the TrueNat test conducted on the cleaner has come positive while driver who was accompanying him is negative. Both cleaner and driver were admitted to District Hospital in South Goa’s Margao town after they complained of fever, he said.
The 28-year-old male cleaner of truck is a native of Agra but had come to the state from Haridwar with some pharmaceutical goods for Essel Propet limited company at Kundaim Industrial in North Goa near Ponda town, Rane said.
He said that the cleaner had arrived on May 14 from Patradevi border in North Goa and on the same day had complained of a fever.
Goa has ten active cases of COVID-19 infection.
