Panaji: MGP President Dipak Dhavalikar may have made big announcement to contest both the Lok Sabha seats, but the party is still searching for credible candidates in both the Parliamentary seats.
Dhavalikar had tentatively announced that Sudin will contest from South, while Naresh Sawal from North. But within no time, both the candidates have refused to contest, leaving MGP back to square one.
Sources stated that the party is now scouting for credible and popular candidate, who will not let the party down.
MGP’s foray into Lok Sabha election was to avenge dropping of their leader Sudin from State Cabinet. Goa’s oldest regional outfit was also affected severely after two of its MLAs had broken away to join BJP.
As the time is running short, the MGP will now have to either abandon their plans of contesting Parliamentary seat or enter into a tie up with any non-BJP, non-Congress forces.
