Accused wanted by Punjab escapes from Goa police custody

Panaji: Two policemen including a head constable attached to Dabolim Airport police station were placed under suspension after accused wanted by Punjab police in Arms Act escaped from their custody.

 

Deputy Superintendent of Police Salim Sheikh told PTI that the accused Kashmir Singh, wanted by Punjab police in connection with Arms Act was detained by Immigration officials at Dabolim Airport when he tried to board a flight to Dubai.

 

He said that the accused was handed over to Dabolim Airport police station staff, which is located outside the Airport.

 

“The accused under the pretext of going to the toilet managed to escape from the custody of police,” he said.

 

Sheikh said that the search is on for the accused while two policemen including a Head Constable and a constable were placed under suspension for dereliction of their duty.
