Panaji: Several AAP Goa leaders on Friday held protest march in Margao city protesting against the arrest of their national convenor Arvind Kejriwal.

The protest was led by Goa AAP President Amit Palekar, party MLAs Venzy Viegas and Cruz Silva and others on Friday.

The protestors walked near Margao bus stand and then gave slogans standing outside Bhartiya Janata Party’s South Goa office.

Talking to reporters, Palekar said that BJP has been afraid of Kejriwal, due to which he was arrested. “AAP volunteers have protested across India. Kejriwal is not just a person but a thought. He may be arrested but his thought cannot be stopped,” he said.

The AAP Goa chief said that Directorate of Enforcement has been working as an extended arm of the BJP.

He said that the BJP has realised that their dream of “charso par” (more than 400) is not getting accomplished. “That is why they are busy trying to silencing the opposition,” Palekar said.

Palekar said that the volunteers of AAP keep their protest on. “BJP’s end is nearing,” he said, adding that the ruling party is depending on the unholy alliances to save themselves from embracing defeat.

BJP has become a cult which follows one person and others don’t have voice, he said.
