Aam Aadmi Party has asked health minister Vishwajit Rane for 3T’s. Truth, Transparency and Testing.
Aap spokesperson Rahul Mhambre said, “We all are going thorough a tough phase. Goans want to know the truth from the Govt. It is important that Govt works on 3T model to gain trust of the people”.
Rahul Mhambre questioned health Minister Vishwajit Rane’s statement that the “Storm is over”. On one hand Health Minister says that Goa is going to witness 1000 cases per day and on the other hand he says storm is over. Instead of sharing the true picture with the Goans he is confusing them with two different statements, seems like he is hiding something. There are many questions that’s needs to be answered specially about the number of Covid deaths. Govt is yet to share count of covid patients who have died with corona and were having co morbidity and were not declared officially as Covid deaths. Need of the hour is to speak *truth* and not to hide things.
Govt needs to build a more *transparent* system for Goans to know about the available Covid facilities in their area. People are unaware about the number of hospital beds available in their area, where to approach and whom to approach remains the biggest worry. Govt should start providing hospital beds status on a real time basis locality wise. Least they can do is to publish it in the daily health bulletin. Also, it is appalling that the number of Covid ambulances have just not increased despite the Health Minister assuring the same on the 5th of july. It has now been 2 months and the people of Goa are still scrambling for ambulances. People have to wait for 10 hrs. While Mr Rane was critical of Goans reaching late to the hospitals, he should tell people how many ambulances are available in their area. Blaming people is not the right way.
The most important thing is to increase *Testing*. It is shocking to see that while the Corona graph is increasing, the number of testing is still stagnant between 1500-2000. Other Govts have ramped up their tests. Forget 40,000 tests a day why can’t we increase to minimum 5000 per day for tracing and isolating the suspects and stopping further spread of the disease. There should be an arrangement of Mobile testing vans for remote areas. People in remote areas have to struggle to get themselves tested.
We also need to end this ridiculous practice of keeping most of the testing centers closed on Sunday. Corona does not take a day off unlike the health minister. These centers should be functional given the spread of the pandemic.
If the goa Govt is serious about fighting corona, it should listen to all Goans and the opposition and work together with them. This is not the time for petty politics. Goan lives are at risk and and we must all work together now.
