19 people lost their lives in road accident in Feb, reveals data

Panaji: Total 19 people, including one cyclist, lost their lives in road accident in the month of February.

The Directorate of Transport has compiled their monthly report of number of accidents that occurred and the total Challans that were issued for the month of February.

As per the report there were 298 road accidents of which 19 were Fatal Accidents (North Goa – 9 and South Goa – 10), 18 were Grievous Accidents (North Goa – 7 and South Goa – 11), 73 were accidents of Minor nature(North Goa – 26 and South Goa – 47) and 188 Non – Injury Accidents (North Goa – 102 and South Goa – 86).

The total number of people who lost their lives in road accidents were 19 (North Goa – 9 and South Goa – 10), which included 16 riders, one each pillion Rider, Cyclist and other.

Total 24 people were Grievously Injured while 110 persons suffered Minor Injuries.

A total 6966 Challans were issued by transport department for violations of various Motor Vehicle Rules.
