14 people lost their lives in road accidents in July

Panaji: The State traffic police have informed that total 14 people lost their lives in road accidents reported in the month of July.

The Directorate of Transport has compiled their monthly report of number of accidents that occurred and the total Challans that were issued during that month

As per the report there were 233 road accidents of which 14 were Fatal Accidents (North Goa – 8 and South Goa – 6), 10 were Grievous Accidents (North Goa – 0 and South Goa – 10), 47 were accidents of Minor nature  (North Goa – 18 and South Goa – 29) and 162 Non – Injury Accidents (North Goa – 88 and South Goa – 74).

The total number of persons who lost their lives in road accidents were 14 (North Goa – 8 and South Goa – 6). This included 11 riders, two pillion riders and one Pedestrian.

13people were Grievously Injured (North – 1 and South – 12) while 74 persons suffered Minor Injuries.

A total 5136 Challans were issued by Transport authorities for various violations of traffic rules.
