Panaji: A 12-hour long mock drill exercise to check Goa’s preparedness in dealing with Tsunami will be held tomorrow at Miramar beach.
Agencies like district collectorate, Fire and Emergency Services, police, tourism, GTDC, disaster management, etc will be part of the exercise.
“The North Goa District will carry out Tsunami Mock Drill Exercise on September 4, 2018 that will run for 12 hours duration which shall commence from 11.30am.The said mock drill will be undertaken in Panaji at Miramar beach,” the press statement issued by the government, reads.
The general public is requested not to panic and to co-operate with Government machinery for smooth conduct of Mock Drill.
The coastal State experienced mild Tsunami waves in 2004 year creating panic.
