Panaji, 11th Feb 2026: A delegation of the Goa Forward Party’s Youth Wing, Yuva Forward, led by Hritik Mandrekar, along with Vrushank Gaonkar, Soham Raut, and Krrish Ballikar, met the Hon’ble Governor of Goa today, 11 February 2026, at Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula, and formally submitted a representation seeking a high-level independent inquiry into the tragic student deaths reported at the BITS Pilani Goa campus.
Mandrekar stated that between December 2024 and February 2026, six student deaths were reported, and in each case the incidents occurred during examination periods or phases of intense academic pressure, clearly indicating the severe stress being faced by students.
He pointed out that despite the loss of six young lives, no detailed inquiry reports have been made public so far, raising serious concerns about transparency and institutional accountability. “These reports cannot remain locked in files. Students and parents deserve to know the truth, and corrective measures must be implemented immediately,” Mandrekar said.
- The Yuva Forward delegation demanded a high-level independent inquiry, complete public disclosure of all findings, and urgent institutional reforms to strengthen counselling systems, student welfare mechanisms, and stress-management support on campuses. The Goa Forward Party reiterated that safeguarding young lives must be treated as a top priority and called upon the authorities to act with urgency and accountability.
