Canacona, March 29: Two civet cats entered the ceiling of the government secondary school in Agonda today (March 29). Since noises were coming from the ceiling, it was initially unclear what had entered. This led to suspicion among the teachers, who immediately informed forest department officials.

When the officials arrived, they inspected the open areas surrounding the school at around 4 AM. They discovered feces from wild animals in the area, which raised further suspicion. Upon further inspection inside the school premises, they found the two civet cats.

The forest department immediately set up a trap to capture them. One civet cat got trapped in the cage after the setup, while the other managed to escape into the forest.

Meanwhile, the school’s teachers discussed the incident and expressed concerns about various types of wildlife potentially entering the school premises. Since there are large trees around the school, animals may reach the ceiling through the branches. Therefore, the teachers have requested the forest department to consider cutting some trees to prevent such incidents in the future.

The captured civet cat has been taken into the care of the forest department.
