Who says I have not done anything for tribals: CM indirectly responds to Govind Gaude

Sanguem: In an apparent reference to the statement by former minister Govind Gaude, chief minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday shot back “who says I have not done anything for tribals.”

He was speaking in presence of Union Tribal Welfare Minister Jual Oram at Sanguem. Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, social welfare minister Subhash Phal Desai and others were present on the occasion.

“Who says I have not done anything for the tribals. 10,000 RFA application was pending. Three generations have been struggling to get right over their land,” he said.
Chief minister said that 3500 people have received tribal sanads.

“All the 10,000 applications will be disposed off by December 19. All the agencies are working on mission mode for that,” he said.

Echoing the statements of Oram, Chief minister Pramod Sawant said that Congress never thought about the welfare of the tribal. “But it is in BJP’s DNA to work for the welfare of Tribal Welfare,” he said.

He said that though he does not have blood relation with the Tribals, he has emotional and social bond with the community.

Sawant said that the state government has worked for the welfare of tribals during last three years.

The chief minister said that the initiatives like Tribal Research Centre has been established which will understand the problems of this community. “They will study heath related issues and also understand the culture of the tribals,” he said.

Sawant said that the state has started the work of establishing tribal Museaum.
The chief minister said that the tribal Kunbi saree has been given promotion by my government and he is proud about it. Sawant said that Kunbi village at Sanguem with the expenditure of Rs 10 crore will be ready in next three month.
