Panaji: The proposed alliance between the Congress, Revolutionary Goans Party and Goa Forward Party seems to have paused for now, pending a meeting between the leaders.

While the Congress party on Saturday said that they want to meet the alliance partners and discuss certain issues related to defectors, two days later, the meeting is yet to take place.

The induction of Isidore Fernandes into GFP seems to be a bone of contention for the Congress party, which is still fighting a disqualification case against its former MLA.

Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao was vocal in expressing dissatisfaction over Isidore’s induction into GFP. He said they will meet GFP and discuss the issue.

However, the meeting never happened on Saturday. GFP President Vijai Sardesai quickly clarified that Isidore was inducted to ensure victory for their Poinguinim ZP candidate, Prashant Naik.

Sardesai and GPCC Chief Amit Patkar were seen together on Sunday during a protest at Cansaulim. Both stood united in supporting the people who claimed that the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited was encroaching upon private properties without acquiring them for the project.

While the Sardesai-Patkar duo were on the ground, RGP’s Manoj Parab and Viresh Borkar were in the skies at the same time. They posted an image together on a flight with the caption “Kiten Te Ujjo.”

Borkar told GNH that they were heading to Delhi. He refused to divulge the agenda.
