Panaji: A tweet with picture of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant watering the plants in heavy rains at Taleigao as a part of Van Mahotsav at Goa University went viral.
The picture was later seen withdrawn from the handler used by the chief minister (@DrPramodPSawant).
In the picture, Sawant is seen watering the plants at Goa University while his guard is holding him umbrella as it was drizzling.
He tweeted “Planted a sapling as a part of #VanMahotsava at the Goa University Campus, Taleigao. Also flagged off a van containing saplings which will be distributed in all talukas of the state.”
Reacting to the tweet, Goa Forward Party Chief Vijai Sardesai retweeted “Ridiculous Tokenism! Watering a plant on a rainy day? It’s because of such acts that public faith in Vanamahotsavs and even Goa University gets diminished.”
The tweet was later withdrawn by CM.
