Posting his own photo wearing a cloth mask made from traditional Kunbi Saree of Goa, Digambar Kamat tweeted : Let us make Mask as our new Way of Life. Wear a Home made Mask & feel at Home when you are on a Roam. Person away from Person should be the new Mantra of showing Love & Affection. Let us all follow Social Distancing & Masking to safeguard ourselves from #Covid19. @INCGoa.
As we are likely to get some relaxation from the lockdown from Monday, 20th April with commencement of Government offices and certain business activities slowly resuming operations, everyone needs to be more careful and cautious. We need to protect ourselves first to protect others. We are safe but not free from Corona Virus pandemic.
I thank the people of Goa for showing restraint during the 25 days lockdown period and appeal to all to continue to maintain peace & discipline in the days ahead. My salute to the all the Frontline Workers who are on the field risking their own lives to help others. I want to compliment the Medical Team which took care of the Covid19 patients.
I appeal to Government to now start taking effective measures in order to bring back economy and business activity on track with solutions to issues faced by migrant and daily wage workers. The government needs to look into the future of small time businesses & professions in Goa like Gaadas, Motorcycle Pilots, Rickshaws, Mechanics, Barbers & Cobblers, Bars and Taverns, Laundry, Flower Vendors along with tourism stakeholders and others.
The Government must immediately come out with a white paper on financial condition of the State and start austerity measures at all levels by curtailing unwanted and wasteful expenditure.
