Panaji: Public Works Department Minister Deepak Pauskar has rubbished the statement by Goa Forward Party, which had accused him of violating Narendra Modi-led government’s policies.
GFP Vice President Durgadas Kamat had told reporters that Pauskar had violated the Modi-led government’s policy by planning to buy bitumen from Iran.
Reacting to the statement, Pauskar said that GFP leaders were ignorant about the entire issue and were making statements in air.
“Goa government is not procuring the bitumen from Iran. We are procuring it from ONGC or IOC. So we are not concerned from where they bring the bitumen,” he said.
Pauskar said that the usual market for bitumen is gulf countries including Iran.
