Panaji: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Wednesday met Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani in New Delhi to discuss the status of various schemes.
In a media statement issued after the meeting, Rane said “Had a pleasant meeting with Hon’ble Union Minister for Women & Child Development Smt. Smriti Irani Ji. We discussed the status of various schemes, Nirbhaya Fund utilization in the state through #OneStopCentres and Universal Women Helpline (181). I have requested her for sanctioning 2 fast track courts in the state of Goa for speedy justice in cases of child sexual abuse and for approval on additional 100 Anganwadi centers for the state of Goa.”
“Further to our interaction, we also had an elaborate discussion on interventions required to achieve economic growth for rural women entrepreneurs, livelihood, market linkages and vision of the department. Also briefed Smriti Ji on the activities undertaken by the state officials to celebrate #PoshanMaah and our interventions to bring down infant mortality rate in the state.”
