Vishwajit Rane initiates inquiry into increased iron content in water at Keri

Sattari: After the reported increase in iron content in the water at Keri, Sattari, Health minister Vishwajit Rane on Monday swung in action.

Rane called for  meeting of the concerned officials to immediately investigate the matter on war-footing.

“The issue of Iron content in the water at Keri is a cause of grave concern. I have called for an urgent meeting of the panchayat body along with the Irrigation department’s chief engineer, PWD and Health officials to take immediate cognizance of the situation,” the minister said.

“I have directed the health officials to draw water samples to examine the cause of the increased in Iron content and chemical that is exposed to. Strict action will be taken in this regard after thorough investigation and findings,” he said.

He has also asked Health and PWD officials to take cognizance of the situation and investigate the matter.
