Viral video: Cyber Crime cell initiates inquiry into complaint by GFP

Panaji: Cyber Crime Cell of Goa Police have began inquiry into the complaint filed by Goa Forward Party’s Vice President  Durgadas Kamat against the viral video showing party president Vijai Sardesai.

“We will do our inquiry. The initial inquiry has already begun but we have not yet issued summons to anyone,” Superitendent of Police (Crime Branch) Karthik Kashyap said.

The complaint lodged with the cyber crime by Kamat  states that “the video clip is being made viral through social media which shows Sardesai talking to a lady at SGPDA Fish Market. The conversation were about the stalls at the market.”

“The video which is edited with the words like “Vijai Abusing Fish Seller Lady and Other Goans” “Vijay is not only a Fotting but a crook and a Abuser” “Stop Abusing Goans” “Fot Fotting Fottingpon” is being circulated in the social media,” he said.

 

The complaint further says : entire shooting of the video and its circulation has been to defame the minister and stop him from undertaking the  developmental and social work. It is also to stop him from doing his duty as a minister.

 

“We request your good self to investigate into the source of this video and interrogate the person for his or her anti-social activities and anti-national activities by indulging into the act of defaming the minister unnecessarily,” he said.

 

“The case should be booked under relevant section of cyber crime. We are ready to provide the viral video which has come to us through different sources and the mobile numbers which have circulated the edited malicious clips,” the complaint adds.
