Panaji : Villegers of Gudi-Paroda have complained to the collector of South Goa regarding illegal hill cutting in survey no. 34/1 at Agramorod Mullem in the jurisdiction of VP Paroda.
The villagers wrote that despite informing the authorities regarding the illegal activities the hill cutting is in full swing “and even it has been going on with increased intensity under the cover of pandemic” wrote the villagers.
The villagers have requested the Collector of south Goa to depute the flying squad immediately at the location of Cupamoddi and seize/attach the machinery, vehicles, equipment and arrest the contractors. The villagers have alleged that the hill cutting is happening in no developmental zones.
“The hill cutting will lead to landslides in the rainy season. We also believe there is involvement of local politician from ruling party in the hill cutting project” said the villagers
They have now requested the authorities to take the necessary action from their end.
