Margao: The differences between Goa Forward Party Chief Vijai Sardesai and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat have started surfacing on public platforms. Sardesai on Friday said that he is ready to restore glory of Margao and also hinted at making his foray in this constituency.
The statement comes at the backdrop of rumoured exit of Kamat from Congress party to join BJP. Kamat has denied having any plans to quit the party but the rumours are rife of he attempting to get into the BJP.
Sardesai and Kamat were considered as close allies who have even jointly fought Margao Municipal Council election and formed the panel.
On Friday, Sardesai speaking at Pimpalkatta Ganesh Sarvajanik Mandal’s function expressed concerns over the deterioration in the commercial capital and has called for efforts to reverse the trend.
He said that he is ready to restore the glory and “take forward Margao with the support of the people and blessings of the Almighty.”
“Margao has been our commercial capital, but it is sad to see the city crumbling,”Sardesai said.
The GFP chief said that the commercial capital crumbling is not a good sign. “There’s a need to reverse the situation. And, to achieve that, we need unity of the people of the commercial capital and the blessings of the Almighty.”
