Fatorda: A day when Goa’s one of the leading newspaper Herald comparing cosmic farming to Hindu practice, Agriculture Minister Vijai Sardesai has taken on the Congress party and activists questioning allocation of Rs 50 crore by Karnataka government for natural farming.
“Karnataka government of H D Kumarswamy where Congress is a coalition partner has allocated Rs 50 crore in its 2018 budget for natural farming,” Sardesai has said in a tweet released here referring to the news item.
“Will these activists condemn it or they are on payroll of companises to oppose methods which opposes use of inorganic fertilizers and pesticides?,” he has questioned.
Sardesai has further said “but Herald Goa and Joint venturists who have perpetually opposed everything that is taking Fatorda Forward are involved in propagating lies.”
“The cultivation of paddy that I had graced is an initative of Shiv Yog Krishi and not a pilot project of Goa government. Goemkars are wise,” he added.
The minister recently had participated in Shiv Yoga Krishi’s project of cosmic farming in the State in his constituency. Cosmic farming has been scientifically approved method of farming which has been followed in several states of the country.
