Vande Bharat train from Mangaluru received at Madgao Railway Station

Margao: Vande Bharat Express which was flagged off by PM Narendra Modi virtually from Mangaluru was received at Madgao Railway station on Saturday, linking both the states with this flagship train.

Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Sadanand Shet Tanavade welcomed the train at Madgao Railway station in presence of local MLA Digambar Kamat, Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuenkar, BJP State General Secretary Damu Naik and others including officials from Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL).

The train with eight-bogies had school students amongst other passengers who arrived from Mangaluru in Karnataka travelling for four and half hours.

“Commissioning of Vande Bharat express between Mangaluru and Madgao begins a new chapter in connectivity between both the states – Karnataka and Goa,” said Tanavade.

He said that Narendra Modi-led government has given emphasizes on the requirement of common man and has worked to fulfil them. Tanavade said that Vande Bharat train will also help tourism sector between both the states.

Talking to reporters, Margao MLA Digambar Kamat said that the Modi-led government has given stress on improving infrastructure on all the railway routes due to which some of the railway stations are surpassing Airports when it comes to amenities and cleanliness is concerned.

“There was a time when many people never used to dare to travel by train considering stinking toilets and other facilities. The things have changed now,” he added.
