Panaji: Amidst rising cases of COVID-19 new infections and deaths, united opposition is likely to move Adjournment motion during the one day Assembly session on Monday.

Highly placed sources stated that Congress Legislative Party, Goa Forward Party, MGP and Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte has unanimously decided to move Adjournment motion on the floor of the House. The opposition benches will ask for discussion on the current COVID-19 situation in the state.

Hinting at the motion,  Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat tweeted “With death toll rising & a 14 year old loosing life, Will BJP Government  still go ahead suspending all rules & pass budget & conduct business without discussion during one day Assembly Session?

“Will Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant make a categorical statement whether Covid Pandemic & peoples suffering is last priority for the Government?,” he added.

GFP Chief Vijai Sardesai tweeted “It’s 6 deaths as of the moment, which includes 14 year old & even 2 people around 50 years of age. The co morbidity excuse also is not tenable! And the Govt looks all at Sea! What happens to Goa? Shouldn’t this be the only discussion on Monday?”
