Panaji : Power Minister Nilesh Cabral while speaking to press said underground cabling is the way forward for Goa as it will help in reducing major power outages across Goa.

Commenting on the impact of cyclone Tauktae in the state Cabral said his department has to do the most tedious job as the electricity lines go through farms, mountains, forests and uneven terrain. “Once these lines are broken we need a lot of manpower to repair the fallen electricity polls” added Cabral
“Underground cabling all over Goa is not possible but we can prioritise certain areas, we can give preference to those lines which have become very old and obsolete or are near the sea and subjected to corrosion or going through the forest” informend Cabral.
Electricity, Roads and water are basic necessities which need to be provided by the state, “I will speak to CM Dr Sawant about improving electricity infrastructure in the state, if CM approves this project then in the next 7-8 months I will get it done” asserted Cabral.
