Under ‘Goa @60 programmes’ webinar on Monsoon to be held on June 11

Panaji : A Webinar on “Monsoon in Goa based on its characteristics and impact of climate change” will be held on June 11, 2021, at 4.00 pm. It will be organized by Department of Information and Publicity as part of the Diamond Jubilee Liberation of Goa, under Goa @ 60 programmes.

The Webinar  aims at enlightening the public on how to take adequate precautions during the monsoon season, more so in the area of flooding, landslides and other damages caused to lives and properties on account of inundation and torrential rains.
The webinar is open to everyone. Dr J. R. Kulkarni, Retired IITM Senior Scientist and Ex-President of IMS Pune Chapter, will talk on the above-mentioned subject via Google meet in Marathi and English languages.
The talk will focus on the basics of weather radar and the uses of Goa radar products for understanding circulation features over the state.
With the onset of the wet season in the state of Goa, several doubts and questions naturally arise in the minds of the general public about the monsoon season.
 In order to provide factual and accurate information pertaining to this season, the session will be conducted through Webinar on weather and climate topic.
