Calangute Police have rescued two females native of Odisha and Mumbai respectively who were soliciting general public for the purpose of prostitution at Naikawado, Calangute.
As per PI Jivba Dalvi information was received that two females were waiting at Nr. restaurant at Naikawado, Calangute and they were soliciting customers for the purpose of prostitution.
Accordingly presence of NGO Hope Foundation member Andrea Pereira was secures and a team of LPSI Sapna Gawas and staff visited the spot and observed that two females were by the road side and soliciting general public. Upon questioning they than informed that they are soliciting customers for the purpose of prostitution since last 08 days at various public places in Calangute.
Accordingly they were brought at the police station and their detailed statement was recorded in the presence of NGO and they were further lodged in State Protective Home, Merces Goa for safe care and protection after obtaining order from the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Mapusa Goa.
PI Dalvi informed that self soliciting will not tolerated and such a drive will be continued in future.
