Panaji: Two off-duty police constables were booked and suspended from service for groping a woman and assaulting her outside a pub in the capital city on Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police (North) Rahul Gupta said that constables Omkar Jadhav and Mayur Naik were booked for groping a woman and assaulting her outside a pub at Patto area in Panaji.
Gupta said both the constables were working in his office.
He said that both the accused outraged modesty of a woman by touching her inappropriately and abused her with filthy words.
As per the complaint filed with Panaji police station, both the accused also assaulted her.
“As soon as the information about the Crime was received, both the constables were suspended,” the SP said.
He said that such kind of behaviour is unacceptable as part of disciplined police force.
