Panaji: A crackdown on Goa’s biggest drug haul recently led the Crime Branch to the entire network with the arrest of two persons, including a woman from Bengaluru and a man from Kerala.

A Bengaluru-native, Goutham M (26), was arrested by the Crime Branch with drugs worth ₹11.67 crores on March 8, 2025, at St Anthony Wado, Guirim, Mapusa, in North Goa.

The accused was caught with a transparent polythene packet containing dried greenish fruiting tops (buds) suspected to be Hydroponic Weed (Ganja), weighing 11.672 kgs, valued at ₹11.67 crores, hidden in his rented room.

A Goa Police spokesman said that during interrogation, the accused revealed he was contacted by his friend Taslim, based in Bangkok, who offered ₹1,00,000 for delivering a drug consignment from Bangkok to India.

Further disclosures led to the identification and arrest of Shilna A, a woman from Bengaluru, by the Goa Crime Branch.
She is a key member of the group operating from Bangkok and coordinates with local suppliers in Bengaluru.

The Crime Branch investigation revealed that Sreejil P. P. from Kannur, Kerala, is the financial backbone of the gang and had booked international flight tickets for Goutham and other individuals suspected to be involved in the drug syndicate.

Sreejil was arrested in Kerala on March 19, 2025.

The police spokesman said that during the interrogation, all the accused confessed that the seized drugs were supposed to be sold in Goa.

He added that Look-Out Circulars (LoCs) and a Blue Notice have been issued against other members of the gang who are hiding in Thailand.
