PANAJI: Goa police on Thursday booked two of accomplices of BJP leader Sonali Phogat in connection with her murder, minutes after Goa Medical College and Hospital conducted autopsy on her body.
A senior police official said that section 302 of Indian Penal Code has been added to the case related to the death of the 42-year-old leader. The police have mentioned names of Sudhir Sagwan and Sukhwinder Wasi as the accused in this case, he said.
Both the accused had accompanied Phogat to Goa on August 22 when she arrived here. Brother of Phogat, Rinku Dhaka, had filed a complaint against both the accused at Anjuna Police Station on Wednesday.
After initial reluctance, the family members had given their consent to GMCH to perform postmortem on the body of Sonali.
