TRAFFIC ADVISORY FOR IRONMAN 70.3 GOA, INDIA 2025

Race Day: Sunday, 9th November 2025 | Timing: 3:00 AM to 4:00 PM

The Goa Traffic Police has announced the following road closures and diversions to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of IRONMAN 70.3 GOA, INDIA 2025. Motorists are advised to plan their travel in advance and follow all traffic instructions.


ROAD CLOSURES & RESTRICTIONS

The entire race route will remain closed for vehicular movement from 3:00 AM until race completion.

Ribandar Causeway (Ribandar Patti to Divja Circle) will be closed from 3:00 AM until the end of the race.

The riverside lane (RHS) of D.B. Marg (Divja Circle to Miramar Circle) will be closed for general traffic during the event.

Miramar Beachside lane (RHS) on Dr. Jack Sequeira Road (Miramar Circle to NIO Circle) will remain closed from 3:00 AM until race completion.

The LHS lane from Goa Science Centre to NIO Circle will remain open for vehicles.

From NIO Circle to Raj Bhavan main gate, the LHS lane will remain open, while the RHS lane will be closed for the race.

The LHS of NH66 from Merces Circle to New Zuari Bridge (Verna side) and the LHS from Divja Circle to Merces Circle will be exclusively used for the race.

Two-way traffic will be allowed on the RHS lane of NH66 from KTC Circle up to the end of New Zuari Bridge (Verna side) from 3:00 AM to 3:00 PM.


NEW FLYOVER & CORTALIM AREA UPDATES (As per latest notification)

  1. Temporary closure of one lane of NH66 (Single Lane):
    From the start of the New Flyover Bridge, Cortalim (Near Down Ramp) to the end of the New Flyover Bridge, Cortalim (Near Sharayu Toyota Showroom), leading from Panaji towards Margao.
    Closed from 3:00 AM to 2:00 PM on 9th November 2025.
    The opposite lane (Margao to Panaji direction) between Sharayu Toyota Showroom and Up Ramp, Cortalim will remain open for vehicular movement during this period.

  2. Temporary diversion of vehicles between Panaji and Margao:
    Traffic from Panaji to Margao shall move through the New Flyover Bridge, Cortalim, and proceed via Kesarval Motels Junction.
    Traffic from Margao to Panaji will be diverted via Sharayu Toyota Showroom → Santrant Slope → Cortalim Cross → Cortalim Circle → Up Ramp, Cortalim.

  3. Diversion of heavy vehicles:
    All heavy vehicles (except those carrying essential commodities) and route buses from Titan Junction, Verna towards Verna Industrial Estate–Borim will be diverted until the conclusion of the event.


ALTERNATE ACCESS FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS

A dedicated car lane will be available for residents along D.B. Marg, from Miramar Residency Gate to Hotel Marriott lane.
Vehicles can enter via Marriott lane, exit at Starbucks Café junction (Campal), and proceed via La Campala internal roads.


TWO-WAY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS

Two-way traffic will be permitted on the LHS lane from Seniors Park to NIO Circle.
Two-way movement will also be allowed on D.B. Marg up to Miramar, with exit options via Dhempe College Road to Caranzalem/Taleigao or Adarsh Circle/Seniors Park to Dr. Jack Sequeira Road (LHS).


DIVERSION PLAN

Old Goa–Ribandar to Panaji: Vehicles will be diverted at Ribandar Patto → Chimbel Junction → Merces Junction → Atal Setu → Panaji Down Ramp.

Panaji to Ribandar: Diversion via Divja Circle → KTC Circle → Mala → St. Cruz → Merces → Ribandar.

Caranzalem to Panaji: Diversion via Goa International Junction (Tonca) → Caculo Mall → St. Inez Junction → 18th June Road, exiting via Cortin–Old Patto Bridge or Madhuban–Bhatulem.

Old Goa Bypass/Merces to Bambolim–Agassaim–Margao: Use NH66 service road → Old Siridao Road → Goa Velha Junction → Old Pilar Road → Agassaim Y Junction for onward journey.

Vehicles to Dabolim Airport or Margao: Proceed via the barricaded LHS lane of the New Zuari Bridge, exiting through Cortalim Down Ramp.

Traffic from Old Goa–Merces (NH748) intending to reach Panaji/Porvorim will climb the Atal Setu Up Ramp (before Merces Circle).


IRONKIDS EVENT (Saturday, 8th November 2025)

The RHS Beachside lane (Miramar Circle to Hotel Vivanta Miramar) will be closed from 3:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
The LHS lane (Miramar Circle to Science Centre) will remain closed during the same period.
Two-way movement will be allowed between Science Centre (Varanda do Mar) and Dona Paula Circle.


GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

No parking and no stopping will be permitted on the race route and diversion roads.
Emergency vehicles (ambulances, fire brigades, etc.) will be given unobstructed movement throughout.
Route buses will be diverted as per this plan.
Motorists are advised to follow all signage and traffic police instructions and avoid unnecessary travel through the affected areas between 3:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
