Fatorda: Pointing out that South District collector has cited public safety as a reason to hold Carnival float parade at Fatorda, Goa Forward Party Chief Vijai Sardesai has said that Chief minister should sack tourism minister Babu Ajgaonkar for playing with the safety of the people.
“South Goa Collector has cited Public Safety as reason for finalising Fatorda route for Carnival Parade,” Sardesai said.
“Which means decision by Goa Tourism Minister to change route this year was against Public Safety. A tourism minister who doesn’t care for Public Safety is a threat to tourists & must be sacked by CM immediately since he will not resign if asked to by anyone,” he added.
“Sad that an ST activist had to knock the door of High Court for South Goa district administration to endorse its own decision taken in 2016. Speaks badly of a meek administration which resembles caged parrots,” Sardesai said,
“Politics shouldn’t pollute celebrations of Goa’s traditions. The show will go on but not where the minister wants it but in Fatorda, which he may feel is small but which is always forward,” he added.
