Panaji: Tamil Nadu’s Health Minister Ma. Subramaniyam will be participating in the 11th edition of the Rotary Rain Run, one of India’s most well-known monsoon runs, which will take place on July 27 (Sunday) in rainswept Goa, a senior functionary said.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Avinash Singh Parmar, Chairman of the Rotary Rain Run, said that the state’s premier endurance event is expected to witness participation from over 2,500 runners, including dozens of young children and elderly citizens.

Tamil Nadu Health and Family Welfare Minister Ma. Subramaniyam and Goa DGP Alok Kumar will be participating in the annual event organised by the Rotary Charitable Trust of Porvorim in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Porvorim and the Rotary Parivar, a collective of Rotary organisations in the coastal state, Parmar said.

“Their presence reinforces the event’s social importance and reflects its popularity,” he added.

The event was officially announced at a press conference where the official jersey and medals for this year’s edition were unveiled.

Parmar said Rotary Rain Run 2025 continues to grow in stature and participation, not just as a fitness event but as a force for social change.

The Rotary Rain Run 2025 will commence at the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) Athletics Stadium in Bambolim, with participants competing in various categories: the 2 km Fun Walk, 5 km Dream Run, and the 10 km and 21 km timed races, he said.

Parmar added that senior citizens will once again have their dedicated 2 km Seniority Walk, introduced in the previous edition.

“Runners in the 21 km timed category will turn around at Miramar Circle, following a scenic route through Bambolim and Dona Paula, showcasing panoramic views of Goa’s coastline and heritage landmarks,” he said.
