Margao: Hours after delegation of panch and Sarpanchas of Tiswadi supported by St Andre MLA Francis Silveira and St Cruz MLA Tony Fernandes met CM opposing any amendment to Panchayati Raj Act, Goa Forward Party claimed entire exercise as “eye wash.”
A delegation of Panch and Sarpanch of Tiswadi supported by Silveira and Tony had met CM and gave a representation with a request to stop any changes to the clause in Panchayat Raj Act.
Reacting to the incident, GFP Vice President Durgadas Kamat tweeted “Mere #EyeWash. What is the use of giving representation. Will Tony and Silveira resign as #MLA if their demand is not met by @DrPramodPSawant? I am sure these 10 MLAs who jumped will be dumped by @BJP4Goa like the way garbage is dumped at #SaligaoTreatmentPlant as elections near”
“They will also have to make it clear whether they will vote in the favour of change of clause in the Assembly. Let them come clear,” he tweeted further.
