Panaji: As the taps in Tiswadi and Ponda taluka runs dry for third day, the Congress party has demanded high-level inquiry into the collapse of retaining wall at Curti-Khandepar, where the National Highway widening work is in progress.
Congress president Girish Chodankar has claimed that the wall was weakened and the PWD was well aware about the situation.
“Despite this, no precautions were taken. Engineers and Contractor is busy passing the bucks. Government need to fix the accountability and take necessary stringent action against those responsible,” he demanded.
Chodankar said that authorities ignorance to the issue had laid to major water crisis in Tiswadi and Ponda taluka.
