Thivim: “Early diagnosis not only saves lives but also protects organs, saves money, and ensures a healthy life,” noted Dr. Shekhar Salkar, advising women on health awareness.

“Women are an incarnation of the goddess Lakshmi in nurturing and forgiving qualities and also embody Durga’s strength. They are disciplined and hold a high status in Indian culture,” said Amita Salatri.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Thivim Lions Club organized a Women’s Felicitation Ceremony. Present on the occasion were Mrs. Sneha Chorge, President of Thivim Lions Club; Adv. Deepak Tilve; Vilas Parab, Secretary; Regional Chairman Shri Prashant Chanekar; Mrs. Jyotsna Tilve; and Mrs. Sharmila Chanekar.

Felicitations were given to prominent guests Dr. Medha Salkar, Mrs. Roopa Bhakta, Mrs. Mangala Naik, Sister Leena Maskarenhas, Mrs. Aditi Kordekar, Adv. Caroline Kulase, and Mrs. Pooja Vaigankar. They were honoured with shawls, shrfal, plants, and mementos. Dr. Dignambar Naik and Dr. Shekhar Salkar also felicitated Mrs. Amita Salatri.

Dr. Dignambar Naik said in his speech that there should be no discrimination against women. “Women are the first guru, the first doctor, and the family’s financial manager. They never retire from their responsibilities,” he added.

Dr. Shekhar Salkar highlighted that a family’s health largely depends on a woman’s care. He also noted that women often neglect their own health due to household responsibilities. “Many times, women ignore diseases and do not seek timely medical treatment, which can lead to serious conditions. Therefore, women should take care of their health and get regular checkups,” he advised.

The Felicitation Ceremony was conducted by Rupali Gavandhalkar, while Riya Varekar thanked the guests. Adv. Deepak Tilve welcomed the guests. Harish Nasnodkar introduced the felicities, and Jyotsna Tilve gave the vote of thanks.
