Baga/Calangute: Calangute police have arrested three persons for killing a tourist at Baga Beach after he resisted their attempts to rob him of his belongings.
Calangute police said that three accused Sahil Kumar (Uttarakhand) presently residing at Maddawado Calangute, Noor Khan (Uttar Pradesh) resident of Parra, and Sunil Vishwakarma from Nepal were arrested by the police and have allegedly confessed to the crime on Tuesday.

All the three accused stabbed to death 20-year-old tourist Harish Tanwar from Delhi at Baga beach on Sunday night, he said adding that the dead body was found on the shoreline on Monday morning.

Police said that while Noor is working as a tailor in Calangute village, two others have been involved in petty thefts in the past.
Police said that on Sunday night, when the victim was sitting at a secluded place on Baga beach, all the three accused tried to rob a bag, which was with him.
“When he resister, one of the accused stabbed him. During the scuffle, the victim died on the spot,” he said.

All the three accused were produced before Judicial Magistrate First Class at Mapusa on Tuesday evening, soon after their arrest and have been remanded to four days of Judicial Custody.
