Anjuna: Police late last night arrested Austrian national who had set up a laboratory in Anjuna beach village of North Goa producing chemical based narcotics at a place rented out to him and seized drugs worth Rs one crore, a senior official said.
35-year-old Christian Kollar was arrested by Anjuna Police under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act after he was found in possession of different narcotics and also for producing amphetamine by setting up a laboratory.
Police Inspector C L Patil said that the accused was initially searched for narcotics at Anjuna following his suspicious behaviour. “During the initial raid, he was found to be possessing charas and MDMA all worth Rs 3.10 lakh,” he said.
The police stumbled upon a bigger case when they raided his house at Anjuna where they found a full fledged labouratory set up to produce chemical based narcotics.
“During the house search it was noticed that he had started a laboratory in order to produce amphetamine drug powder and another liquid,” Patil said.
Police recovered 21 bottles of different type of chemicals and one bottle of poison and raw amphetamine of around half kilogram worth Rs one crore,” he said.
